I have always loved pictures of doorways and decided to snap some during our vacation a few weeks ago. These doorways were found in the medieval town of Pigra (up in the hills of Lake Como), and in the towns of Como and Bellagio, Italy.
I wonder who has walked through these doorways and what kind of people they are and lives they lead?
One of my favorites, aged wood with dark hardware and ivy surround:

A more modern looking doorway in medieval town of Pigra:
Almost looks like a jail cell with the gray cement and square lines but I love this weathered door:

A simple white door with cute green bottles on ground:
Here are some window pictures I captured as well.

PS- Any recommendations on good cameras? You lovely bloggers always have the most amazing photographs and I really need to upgrade.

I love this post! The doors and windows are amazing, as are all your photographs! I use a Nikon D-80 Digital SLR, but I think your photos are much nicer than anything I've taken!
ReplyDeleteT~ These photos are wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a Nikon D80 SLR also. I LOVE it. You might also check out Darby at Fly through My Window blog or her sister, Erika, at Urban Grace blog. They have a truly talented photog friend that give recommendations on her favorite camera {I think it's a Cannon Rebel.....maybe}. And, if all else fails, visit Ritz Camera. Seriously, the staff is very knowledgeable {at least the one by my house} and friendly! :)
Eileen and CC- thanks for the great camera info!
