Reading and dreaming

If .....

If I was a hutch, I would have this white paint covering me with a little love showing through. I would have these jadeite and ironstone dishes inside with this perfect 'A' tassel hanging from my handle. If I was a bedroom I would be washed in bright white natural light. I would have soft and airy fabrics around me and an abundant supply of large vintage laundry baskets hidden away. I would have the most charming and unique light fixture hanging right in my center. If I was a living room I would have exposed wood plank walls and ceilings, all painted in the perfect shade of white. I would have french doors at my entrance and large plank rustic wood floors. The furniture would be well loved and well worn, welcoming visitors to spend hours in my space. I would be surrounded by perfectly arranged yet casual vignettes on tables and mantels.
If I was a white vintage tea cup I would be filled with lovely, sparkly jewels and I would be protected by the palest pink peony in a clear glass vase.
If I was a garden party I would order up the brightest rays of sun with a hint of a breeze. My large white table would be complete with vintage linens, place cards, and plenty of wine for all of my guests.
If I was an entryway table I would be rustic, with a large, white antique mirror on my top to reflect the smiling faces as my visitors arrive. I would always have white hydrangeas front and center in a galvanized bucket. Vintage wicker totes would rest nearby filled with magazines and materials for my guests to peruse.
If I was a dining area I would have an oval table so that my guests could visit easily. The table would be covered in white linen with a simple arrangement of candles in the center to provide soft lighting while my guests visit {and to give my crystal chandelier a vacation}. My chairs would be worn and loved and oh the stories they could tell about the many conversations that have taken place in this room over the years.
If I was in my favorite city in the world today, in my favorite department store, I would visit with one of my favorite designers.
But I'm not.

So I'll settle with laying in my comfy white bed, just in front of my pretty white shutters, and studying page after page of 'At Home with White', while sipping on white wine.

Sarah- thank you for the award, it's my first and I appreciate you always visiting me and leaving such great comments. I'll post about it tomorrow.

Susie- You're too cute. If we were neighbors I'd have to quit my full time job so I could be your understudy and learn to do/make/design/redesign etc, the incredible things you do.

  14. Hi PVE- It is too late and that was truly the only 'presentable' tiny corner of my bedroom and I hesitated even posting that. I take it as a big compliment that you suggested I enter it...the bedrooms on 'All the Best' are just incredible.
