Modern and Moonlit

Not so much on the modern,

but YES on the moonlit.

It's dark and rainy here and this image hits the spot for me.
There must be a roaring fire just to the side
and the big bottle of vino is surely on it's way to the table now.

Here's to a safe and festive weekend,

and to just 'apres-dinner' bedtimes for kiddos next week as darkness falls an hour earlier

{advantage of youngsters who can't tell time yet!}.

Hotel crush

I just got home from my girls weekend in Denver and it was one of the best weekends ever! Next stop, NYC in December....

If your plans include a visit to NYC during the upcoming holiday season {think ice skating or tree lighting at Rockefeller Center} you might check out this new British hotel which recently opened in Soho.

I could handle this view from my room:
And people watching from these fab chairs in front of the roaring fire in the lobby:

How about sipping wine and reading a magazine from this table:

I know you'd love to check out your favorite blogs from this cute desk:
And store your cashmere sweaters and scarves for the weekend in this dresser:

I would love to turn out this light and rest my head on this pillow in this incredible bed for my weekend getaway to NYC!

BOO!

I couldn't resist one final post before departing in the night on my broomstick....

...for a much anticipated weekend of endless glasses of witches brew, ....hauntingly cold, crisp air,....and catching up on the spookiness of life with old friends.
So until I hop back on my broomstick and head home,

here's to a frighteningly fabulous fall weekend for all!

A girls weekend

I'm hitting the friendly skies tomorrow evening and heading to my home town for a fun-filled and action packed weekend with my best girlfriends. It snowed in Denver today and the highs will be in the high 50's so packing light isn't an option. I'm sure you're all just dying to know what I'm packing for a weekend in the Rockies, right {come on, humor me here}?

Well, since I've thoroughly enjoyed Seleta's recent posts on her wardrobe choices for quick getaways, here's my first {feeble} attempt.

Thursday evening flight to Denver:
Top: Jacob Canada
Jeans: Gap (I'm taking 2 pair of the same skinny jeans from Gap)
Cardigan: Target
Ballet Flats: Tory Burch

Friday afternoon:
Sweater: Boutique in Houston
Boots: Nine West
Jeans: Gap

Friday night on the town:
Black ruffle top and cardigan: Jacob (Canada)
Jeans: Gap
Boots: Franco Sarto

Saturday afternoon:

Jeans: Hudson
Tank: H&M
Boots: Target

Saturday evening: {private party at a Champagne bar}
Dress: Ted Baker
Shoes: Kenneth Cole

Sunday flight home:

Signing out for the weekend...now if you miss me at least you'll know what I'm wearing.
Happy weekend!

Why white?

White projects purity, cleanliness, and neutrality.
Doctors don white coats,
brides traditionally where white gowns,
and a white picket fence surrounds a safe and happy home.
White aids mental clarity.
White encourages us to clear clutter or obstacles.
White evokes purification of thoughts or actions.
White enables fresh beginnings.

Cue the bagpipes

I can 'plaid' it up, can you?

To snuggle?
To journal?
To create?
To gaze at?
To eat upon?
To wear to work?
To wear to a party?
To splash around in the rain?
Yes, I can do it.
