Baby steps

Hee, hee. I'm giddy this morning.

As I told you yesterday I was off to find a perfect table for our family room. Well after striking out big time {visited antique stores, thrift stores, you name it} my hubby said let's all head out together and look.

During this little trek to a few stores in Houston I saw something incredible happening~ right before my eyes....this man who used to only love contemporary design {dark/black, straight lines, leather, etc} was actually drawn to things like this:

and this:

yep, even chippy lovelies like this:and white, yes, I said WHITE~ ha!
Soon, very soon, I hope our home will begin to feel something like this:

{you know we can't get rid of our leather sofa and chair, still many years left to even consider it} and this:

I couldn't act like I noticed of course, so that's why I saved my excitement for you.
Today.
In my post.
That he'll likely read later today.
And I know he reads my blog because of the amazing transformation I witnessed yesterday.

{painting the brown walls white are still a no-go though}

  10. Yay!!! My hubs and I don't really see eye to eye either. He is really really traditional, and also hesitant to change. I am looking for a cleaner, more updated look...WAY less Country.

  11. Morning T~ I love the white crisp look with the comfy feel of a little love worn furniture. Leather has a classic look that I'm always drawn to. We have a second home (condo) that we've started updating/remodeling (what a project or should I say projects). It's such a challenge to find economical features that achieve the design I'm going for.
    You always provide the inspiration I need.

    Sweet wishes,
    Sara

  12. That's so funny! Your hubby sounds so much like Steve! We are actually trying to bring a little more "man stuff" into our home, like those leather chairs (love that image!). Congratulations. Yes, good idea to pretend you don't notice :)
