My dreams led me to this article in House Beautiful Magazine about the Round Top, TX country home designed by my interior design~idol, Ginger Barber.
This is the family room in the main house, with a slight view of the kitchen (I spy a farm sink).
Her signature wall to wall sea grass. White washed pine covers the walls and an extraordinary lantern is the only light fixture in this room.
Limestone fireplace with reclaimed wood mantle.
White linen with touches of tan and green in the master bedroom {headboard ♥}.
A twig mirror and antique chest of drawers in the master. Only Ginger can make a bundle of hay look this cool.
Leaving the main house's wrap around porch and heading to the guest house.
The guest house family room. H-e-l-l-o painted wood floors!
The guesthouse is painted in Sherwin Williams Westhighland White.
A guest bedroom.
The main hallway in the guest house complete with large wicker basket for blankets and more painted wood floors. ♥
The main bedroom in the guest house with purple accents popping against the whites and neutrals.
An antique chair somewhere in the guest house. Looks like the floors were painted or stained gray.
Bathroom in the guest house with zinc counter top, more painted wood floors, and Ginger's signature baskets. Look at the ceiling detail.
The screened in porch off the guest house complete with love seat swing.
The covered patio table area for meals. This is the only large dining area in/on the property. Imagine lazy, sunset meals here while the kids run around the property.
Pretty unassuming from the front, no?!
An old barn sitting out on the property.
One of many oak trees covering the property.
I'm ready to pack it up and move to this little slice of heaven. It's almost worth commuting into Houston every day to be able to live in such an incredibly appointed, yet warm home in these surroundings.
Ginger's style is one that resonates with me completely. These rooms make my heart do somersaults and give me goosebumps. Down to every last detail, I love to soak it all up. I even dragged took my hubby to her open house last year and tried {and failed} to convince him that WE MUST buy her house. I hope we get to see her new home here in Houston some day soon.

This home just oozes peace and relaxation! I LOVE it!
