Canal living::Belgian style

This 17th century building houses an incredible 3-story apartment full of antiques and rustic, Belgian style.

The dining room is composed of Flemish floor tiles and French doors that lead to a small terrace.

The galley kitchen which leads to the sunlit breakfast nook. Imagine sipping your coffee or tea here in the morning as the sun rises over this historic town.
The living room with oak floors and floor to ceiling windows.
As you enter into the living room from the staircase.
I'm not sure how I would feel about maneuvering up and down this original oak staircase!

The main bedroom with arched ceilings.
Secondary bedroom with those arched ceilings and loads of built in cabinets {I wonder if those Hermes boxes are full of deliciously hand-made, scrumptious leather goodies?}.The full bath.
A view of the canal from inside.

The charming exterior.
A final view of the canal.Such an interesting historic town and a cozy~chic abode! How I would love to visit Bruges, Belgium somday....

  1. This house is lovely. I just love the bedroom. I've been to Belgium a couple of times and have photos of a piece of canal that looks just like this so to me it looks like it's in Bruges, which is absolutely beautiful and would be a stunning place to live. It also has some really gorgeous interiors shops. These photos make me want to go again!

  5. Now I want to go to Belgium and must put it on THE LIST! I COULD imagine sipping coffee and looking out at the canal....padding around this charming house, my bare feet against the smooth, worn, wood....sinking into one of the white chairs, book in hand..... Instead, I have to go exercise and get groceries. But, I enjoyed the dream, if only for a moment. Thanks, T!! xx P&H

  16. Oh, that is a glorious space. Really fond of it. You know, I love interesting architectural spaces and would love to live in an old city for that reason alone. I could live in a small box if it were interesting architecturally and had good light and views. Not asking for much...

    Great find!!!! Good luck with the running, by the way and sorry your toenails are falling off but hey - you will get NEW ones!
