I did it!

It's all over and yes, I am a bit sad today.

I ran the whole thing, but v.e.r.y. sloooowly! (over 2 1/2 hours).
The race was so exhilarating I can't begin to tell you. I was so overcome with emotion and excitement I actually cried sporadically from start to finish. The scenery was more than I imagined with the fog lifting off of the rolling, vine covered, hills of Napa Valley and the cool air.

I felt so good running and managed a smile and a 'yahoo' as I crossed the finish line.

My hubby asked me immediately afterwards if I was ready for a full marathon....
hmmmm, let me think about that....

NO

That's like asking a woman who just gave birth if she's ready for another child! While I do see more half-marathons in my future, a whole is not at the top of my list.

Here's the gang enjoying wine tasting and some shade after the race.
And a bit scared looking T at 5:30am, ready to hit the pavement (butterflies in full action here)!
I have some great pictures from our weekend in Napa so stay tuned...

I've got a sick mother and a broken A/C unit to deal with first~ home sweet home. ;)

  3. Congratulations! Looks like your run was beautiful! My hubs runs marathons and keeps asking me if I will do one in my life time. I've run 1/2 marathons, but KNOW that I do not have the mentality to run a full. Those people are truly amazing! You look great during your run (Yes, that's what I strive for)! Ha! Again, congrats on such an amazing accomplishment!Running and FAB home decor style...You go girl! :)

  7. Yes, you did do it!
And no one can ever take that away from you!

I ran a full marathon a bunch of years back, and although I don't plan on doing it again, it's just this overwhelming sense of being able to accomplish ANYTHING. Enjoy it, you deserve it! :-)
