I have a couple of few very close girl friends {besties who live in other states}, but I haven't had a lot of casual girl friends in my life.
For some reason now is the time, and I'm embracing it with open arms!
I've never been one to turn down an offer to go out or just hang out with a friend and chit chat. But I'm also not typically the one who invites others to go out or hang out.
From this point forward I will engage my women friends more often.
I really enjoy having a friend to share my interests with, which bonds us together {running, blogging, kids and play dates, fashion and shopping, travel, entertaining and foodies, cultural events, interior decor, work and career, and of course WINE}.
Different friends, different interests, but all overlapping with me.

You bloggers always amaze me too. So many creative and talented women out here in blogland.
Almost every week I seem to stumble upon a new blog and get so excited to make a connection with you and/or your style.
So I'm throwing a big hug to all of my women~folk out there. images courtesy of Country Living

ReplyDeleteGM T, I know what you mean about friends. Through blogging I have met so many wonderful kindred spirits(including YOU). I have had the good fortune of being able to connect to a few of them in person clear across the country in North Carolina. I would have never dreamed in a million years that I would ever do such a thing. Boy would I have missed out on a lot of JOY!! God has a plan and the journey is amazing and fun!! Happy Monday,Kathysue

ReplyDeleteI feel the same way....my blog friends are the ones who truly "get" me...they are the ones I call when something exciting happens, like getting our new house.
ReplyDeleteI'm so thankful to have met so many like-minded kindred spirits this past year, and you are most certainly one of them. :-)

Hi T,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post! I understand what you mean completely... I'm more likely to be invited than to do the inviting. I don't know if it's the fear of rejection that keeps me from opening up more to new friends or what? But, like you, I've met so many kind people in Blogland who are always so generous with their friendship. You are definitely one of those people. :)
Have a wonderful day!!
Hugs ~ Jo
P.S. Thanks so much for your kind words about my puttering spot and my blog! :)
Isn't it wonderful when friends like that come into your life!
ReplyDeleteYou deserve this award, you are an amazing talented lady!
Lots of love
Kristin
We're opposite. ;) I'm always the one who does the inviting...I have tons of casual friends, but what I really wish for is just one good friend--the kind who knows what you look like without make-up and doesn't care. ;)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean...it's amazing the kindness of other bloggers...something I never expected to find while blogging.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award and I have to say I'm in wholehearted agreement with all your woman-friend thoughts.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Yes, blogging has reminded me of the kindness and generosity of people (women!). I have very few female friends, mostly as I work in a profession dominated by men and rarely find interesting women I want to befriend, and yet have so many blog buddies I long to spend a day with! It is so unfair that they are so far away!!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I am going to try a little harder to reach out to women as I am sorely in need of a few more female perspectives in my life!! And just the companionship of someone who "gets" it all, whether it be decorating or shoes or not shoes or books or wine or whatever....!!
Loved your California pics! xo Terri
Girl Power Together is the best ~ and here is a virtual toast to you!
ReplyDeleteJust a quick note to wish you a lovely and sunny day :-)

Reading this in the Cleveland airport and smiling ear to ear. I never imagined I'd make a new friend in my same neighborhood through blogging! Hugs to you, my new honest, open, thoughtful and creative friend! xo...Linsey
