Powder bath reveal

I was able to finish my powder bath re~do before leaving for Europe so here you have it. Three white walls, one large chalkboard wall {thanks for the inspiration Elz!}

You can see a before picture at the end of this post.

My little one will create masterpieces here in these frames, as will her friends, our friends, guests at our dinner parties, etc. I can't wait to see how this wall evolves over time.
{I was sure to save enough white paint to cover this if/when I grow tired of it in the future}.
The little oval antique mirror belonged to my great aunt and I found this great spot for it just above the sink so that all of the little people who use our potty can see their pretty faces.

I used Pratt and Lambert's Seed Pearl paint and Rust-oleum's chalkboard paint.
Here it is in the process.

Here is the before~ eek, bad picture, bad color.

This powder bath had floral wallpaper and in a desperate attempt to cover it before we moved in, I bought some khaki green 'oops' paint at Lowe's and painted right over the paper. It was fine for the past few years that we've lived here but I was ready for a change. This powder bath is right off of our kitchen in a highly visible spot and the green wasn't playing well off the gray kitchen walls, hence my excuse to paint it white~ha!
It is so much brighter now with the semi-gloss white~ish walls. Not even the black chalkboard wall can darken up this space.

It was well worth the minimal cost for the paint and the elbow grease that went into removing the old wallpaper. We will be in this house for at least a few more years and it's important to me to feel at home and actually enjoy my surroundings.

We just returned from our journey today so I'll be readjusting my head and body and will have lots to share with you in the coming week.

I've missed you!!

xoxo~

  2. I love it - who knew such a tiny room could look so chic! My downstairs loo is so plain and boring - I may have to copy some of your ideas especially the sink skirt and the loo roll on a hook - what a good idea!
    Hope my fellow Britons were good to you and you had a great holiday.

  5. Your makeover is just fantastic! Love the wall colors and the frames on the chalkboard wall. Also, your bath just has great bones. Such a beautiful sink and faucet, floor and really one of the best looking toilets I've seen! All of these elements add so much character and I think with your new colors they really shine!

    i love this room. it is so "me." i would never tire of the black wall and how fun to find messages left from drunk people the next day. i'm saving this room to my favorites, and i rarely do that.

  14. Looks gorgeous T. Nothing beats a clean clear palette. I am thinking of repainting my office in F&B Slipper Satin or other soft ivory white as I have quickly bored with the rich blue. Looks great and cannot wait to hear about your trip.
