Happy Monday friends!
I'm in Napa, California for the half marathon and making a long weekend out of it.
We are having an incredible time here and I'm happy to say that I improved my half marathon time from last year (here) significantly~ yay!!
Always a bit nervous just before the big event....

...and on a major high during the last half mile!
Our friends were there to cheer me on.
And we've partied and celebrated all weekend long.
There's nothing like re hydrating with some of Napa's yummiest wines.
Now that I've made it here two years in a row, I'm hopeful to make this trek a yearly tradition. For those of you who run half marathons or are wanting to get into it, I can't recommend this run enough. The beauty of the course is beyond words. It's not too crowded, but it is a hilly course. Although it's much cooler here than last year, the weather is perfect for running.

We've visited some lovely vineyards, had scrumptious meals, and are off to the mud baths in Calistoga today.
xo~

Wow Tricia! That is really an accomplishment. I have been to Napa, in fact just last weekend, I went to see Fifi O'Niell in Healdsburg so I know how hilly it is in those neck of the woods. Congratulations! Marcia
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your congrats and sweet comments. As I've said before, growing up with asthma and two left feet, I've never been athletic at all. Running has been an amazing journey for me over the past 2 years and it's been fun sharing the ups and downs with you!

Janice- there isn't a walking section in this particular event, but many of the runners take walk breaks throughout the 13 miles. ;)
