Nothing like having professional portraits taken for work to make you realize you need a hair change ASAP! I was able to get into my girl last minute yesterday evening and had her add some low lights to darken my color (it was getting too brassy), cover those nasty gray hairs (AGAIN, it's only been 3 weeks since my last color) and add layers to lighten up the thick and heaviness around my face.
Voila~ bangs and layers.
The section of bangs is small enough that I can still work them into my hair and hide them or straighten them in front for a fringy look. I kept the length but had lots of layers added throughout my hair. I have very thick and coarse hair and I struggle with wanting to keep it longer so it weighs it down and isn't so big and poofy, and having layers to keep the movement and lighten up the heaviness.

Bangs are always so controversial aren't they? People love them or hate them, my hubby is in the 'hate them' category.

Looks awesome! I have been growing out my fuss, I mean layers for about a year... and my hair feels long and kind of heavy. I was ready to chop it again until I found a great hair product for "lift"... seriously, love.... it is the Kenra (kendra?) brand called root lift 13. changed my life...

ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great! I know you say that your thick hair may be hard to manage, but what I would do for some lovely thick hair to hold a style and shape. I've been blessed with fine, poker-straight hair that can't hold a style - I call it baby hair. argh!

has gotten wavier
in the last few years
and I'm now going
with it, instead of
fighting it. I got a
few layers and just
scrunch product in
it, air dry and voila!
So freeing not to have
to use the roller brush
and blow-dryer.

Your bangs do set off your eyes just beautifully, T! Can I say that they make you look younger....? lol! Bangs can hide a multitude of wrinkles and bring out eyes and cheekbones so nicely. LUV them on you, girl!
