October...

...ends tomorrow.

Did you carve or decorate your pumpkins this year? We had the best intentions and even purchased extra pumpkins to carve but just never got around to it. Who knows, maybe tonight.

I love these botanical pumpkins and this would be super easy!

I've had major pumpkin fever this month. Donning orange cardigans and whipping up quite a few pumpkin~a~licious treats in the kitchen.

I've even been drinking pumpkin flavored coffee~YUM!

The great news about November is that the pumpkin fever can continue...

....AND most of the pumpkin inspired fall decor inside my house can remain in place through turkey day!

Here's to a festive Halloween holiday for everyone tomorrow. I'm excited to see my little vampire all dressed up and ready to hit the streets.

Cheers~
Tricia

P.S.~ sending well wishes to those affected by Sandy. Luckily my family and friends on the east coast are all safe and sound this morning.

In the Paris burbs

Lucky for me I've found some eye candy of the 'French decor' kind to help ward off my fall fashion obsession {with 80 degree temps in Houston :: boots and leather pants are totally out of the question so no real reason to buy anything anyway, right?!).

Check out this sweet duplex in the suburbs of Paris.

Some industrial elements mixed in with their antiques and local Paris flea market finds.

A glass partition to keep the kitchen area separate while allowing the natural light to stream through.

J'adore this nook.  This little banana leaf chair looks like the perfect spot to laze around and read...

....or stalk fashionable peep's pics on instagram and pinterest. I'm chomping at the bit to SHOP for some new boots, blazers, leather and sweaters for fall.  COOL down already would you Houston weather?!!

Oldies but goodies

Let's start the work week off with some eye candy of the 'home interiors' kind.
A Brooklyn town home full of antiques, thrifted items and lots of DIY.  The British couple who live here created this warm and chic home for their family themselves

Enjoy!

Would you believe that they found these chairs at the Brimfield Antique show for $50 total for the pair?! She painted them and added the shoe polish treatment then covered in muslin fabric and simply stapled.

A closet full of vintage drawings.

Gorgeous collection of antique mirrors!

Look at those moldings on the wall!

Industrial shelf unit housing the extra fluff for future use around the house.

Bird cages turned light fixtures.

Collection of antique dressing mirrors.

Let's head downstairs to check out the lower level.

Apparently this is the basement level and since it has few windows and gets minimal natural light they decided to paint the walls in chalkboard paint and just go with the dark and dramatic look.

Hilary Robertson, the 'interior stylist' responsible for these fabulous looks!

Mais oui.

Here's to hoping this new week is uneventful and stress free!  ☺

The house where Jenna lived?

Is this the home where Jenna Lyons {JCrew Creative Director} lived after leaving her husband last year? Well according to several sources {at bottom of post} the answer is YES. Apparently the furnishings are very similar to the interior of the home that she shared with her now ex-husband in Brooklyn.

This stunning double~carriage house in NYC's Tribeca neighborhood was just listed at $15.9 mil!

Such a chic abode~ it definitely oozes style.

Calgary weekend

Of course the day we leave to head North for cooler temps and fall foliage a cold front moves into the Houston area!

But no matter the temps in Houston, we wouldn't have seen as many golden leaves as we saw in Calgary...

...or towering pines.  The weather was just gorgeous, a bit windy but sunny and high 50s all weekend.

We went to visit family and friends for the long Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

Some pumpkin spice muffins were in order for the festivities.
We had a very non-traditional feast of spicy chicken, potatoes and veggies~ all ordered in so we could relax at granny's house.

Drinks with good friends and dinner at Model Milk. Such a cute restaurant with great service and food! It's so fun to check out the Saturday night crowd in a different city. Very different from the Houston crowd out on the town that's for sure.

Moi~ enjoying a glass of vino and a fun night with hubby.  Knowing that our kiddo was in heaven at home with her grandparents made the night all the more relaxing and enjoyable.

Sunday morning sunrise on the back patio.

A long stroll around the lake.  Taking in the cool, dry air and final fading of color before the harsh Calgary winter hits.

Daddy and his girl strolling along.

Me and my girl.

The pretty tree in front of granny's house.

This was our first Canadian Thanksgiving celebration and we had such a great weekend we might have to make it a tradition.  Nothing beats being surrounded by good, loving people for an extended weekend.
