{thankful}

**health, family, friendship, jobs, shelter, interior design, fashion, messy updo's on bad hair days, happiness, seeing the world, healthy foods, wine, offices that close early on the day before Thanksgiving, gorgeous weather, safety, freedom, education, learning about other cultures and religions, yoga, meditation, support network, interesting books, mood altering music, soy lattes, dogs, happy little kids, great teachers, being married to your soul mate, best friends near and far, blue skies, the start of the holiday season, snuggling, etc...**

If you asked me what I'm most thankful for on any given day it's my health and that of my family.

Wishing all of you a holiday full of love, health, good food, companionship, laughter and thankfulness. ♥♥

Mental prep

Try as I might to ignore the Christmas lights and Texas-sized wreaths going up on the houses in my neighborhood, along with hearing jingle bell rock playing in the shopping plaza nearby AND the Christmas tree photos on my friends' IG pics, the realization hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday.

 As I bid farewell to a girlfriend after a coffee date I said, "enjoy your turkey day next week!"...eek, there it was.

Thanksgiving. Next. Week.

There's no denying it. Once we hit next Wednesday the following 5 weeks will be a frenzied blur.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Christmas holidays with a passion. I love spending time with family and friends and sharing traditions with my little one and shopping and baking and wrapping etc....
BUT the whole decorating the house thing doesn't excite me this year. I'm not ready to dig through plastic bins of decor, YET, but I know by next Friday it will hit me. I'll be blasting holiday tunes and eagerly opening those bins and taking in the smell of Christmas {the smell of my holiday decor is amazing, must be all of the candles melted together after sitting in the detached garage all summer, ha!} and pulling out my Christmas angels, candles, ornaments and lights.

  In an effort to face the calendar and get mentally prepared this week, I've pulled some holiday decor inspiration images just in case you need a nudge as well.

::stars and stripes::

Happy election day!

I voted a few weeks ago and am sporting my red, white and blue today.
A proud American. ☺

Love this e-card posted by another blogger {here}:

Here's to a late night watching the results roll in and to which ever candidate you're pulling for,
"may the odds {or electoral votes} be ever in your favor!"

xoxo~
