While my body will remain in Houston over Spring Break...work, work, working away,
my mind will be here:
Far, far away in Bruges, Belgium. Tucked away in the tranquility of Begijnhof.
This enclosed space is completely silent, yet it somehow called out to me last week. I felt an overwhelming longing to be here for an extended period of time....
....then I realized that it was almost exactly this time last year that I visited.
We walked through this area twice in our 3 day stay in Bruges but twice wasn't enough.
Someday I'll walk this cobblestone pathway again.

And I'll travel here from the city center via horse drawn carriage.
Because this sweet little peep will insist on it!
And I'll insist that we have lunch at this cute spot next time.
But this spring break, no far away journeys for my family. Way too much going on with work for both of us. I'm honestly a little bummed as all of our friends are headed out on Friday for ski or beach vacations. Our little neighborhood will be so quiet!

ReplyDeleteI have been to Bruge several times. It's wonderful to note that Americans are only recently discovering its beauty and excellent food. Beautiful photos!

We just got back from visiting our daughter and her family in Michigan. I must admit, flying into the cold, snowy weather was not my favorite, but see our daughter and her family was heaven!
